Before selecting a UV solution that suits your application, several key parameters must first be clarified. UV intensity is often confused with UV dose, although they represent different concepts. UV intensity refers to the instantaneous power of UV light reaching a specific surface or point, while UV dose represents the total UV energy delivered to microorganisms over a defined exposure time. The figure below further illustrates and clarifies the distinction between UV intensity and UV dose.

Water Ponding

Standing water in production or utility areas

Drain Blockages

Frequent clogging of floor or trench drains

Cross-contamination Risk

Drainage from different product lines mixing

Slow Drainage

takes long to clear from floors or drain lines

Cross-contamination Risk

Drainage from different product lines mixing

Unpleasant Odors

Foul smell from drains or floor traps

Temperature Shock

Drainage Damage from Hot CIP Water

Common Issue

These are common drainage issues found in production and utility areas, affecting hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency. If not addressed properly, they can lead to contamination risks, system damage, and workflow disruptions.
